Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) cricethrionis Wen, Sun and Sun, 1984: 57 , fig. II-9.

Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) rusticum Yu, Yang and Gong, 1986: 170 , figs. 15–18, syn. nov.; Li, Wang & Chen 1997: 167, fig. 2-1-87.

Type data. China, from Tscherskia triton (de Winton) ( L. cricethrionis ); China, Yunnan Province, from Eothenomys miletus miletus (Thomas) and Apodemus chevrieri (Milne-Edwards) ( L. rusticum ).

Remarks. Leptotrombidium rusticum have no differences from L. cricethrionis and is an obvious synonym of the latter. The only difference of L. cricethrionis from L. taishanicum is somewhat longer legs (Ip = 676–736 vs. 627), and no variation of this character is recorded in the latter species. Therefore, L. cricethrionis may be a case of intraspecific variation within L. taishanicum .
