107. Leptotrombidium deliense ( Walch, 1922)

Trombicula deliensis Walch, 1922: 554 .

Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) deliense deliense, Vercammen-Grandjean & Langston 1976: 239 , pls. 1–4, 6, 18.

Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) deliense, Li, Wang & Chen 1997: 120 , fig. 2-1-22; Fernandes & Kulkarni 2003: 96, fig. 24.

Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) deliense sinense Wen and Chen, 1984: 175 , fig. II–76, syn. nov.

Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) deliense microsetosa Zhao, Tang and Mo, 1986: 98 , figs. 7–11, syn. nov.

Diagnosis. fPp = N/N/BNN; Pc = 3; Gn = 2; fSc: PL> AM> AL; SB/PL; fCx = 1.1.1; fSt = 2.2; fD = 2H-8-6-6-4- 2; DS = 28; VS = 20–22; NDV = 48–50; Ip = 626–719; AW 55–66, PW 64–78, SB 26–31, ASB 24–30, PSB 12– 15, SD 37–43, AP 24–30, AM 44–59, AL 34–46, PL 44–58, S 62–80, H 46–58, D min 34–46, D max 42–58, V min 27– 32, V max 39–52, pa 220–255, pm 186–215, pp 215–255.

L. deliense sinense : fSc: PL ≥ AM> AL; DS = 28; VS = 21; NDV = 49; Ip = 620–648; AW 56–61, PW 69–72, SB 26–28, ASB 23–25, PSB 14, SD 38, AP 24–25, AM 42–43, AL 35–37, PL 43–49, S 50–51, H 43, D min 39–40, D max 42–43, V min 27, V max 39–40, pa 205, pm 185, pp 230.

L. deliense microsetosa : fSc: PL> AM> AL; DS = 28; VS = 20; NDV = 48; Ip = 634; AW 55–61, PW 61–77, SB 23–30, ASB 22–31, PSB 13–16, SD 40, AP 23–31, AM 39–47, AL 33–41, PL 41–50, S 48–61, H 39–48, D min 31–40, D max 34–42, V min 25–32, V max 34–41, pa 202–251, pm 179–218, pp 224–257.

Type data. Indonesia, North Sumatra Province, Medan, from Homo sapiens L. ( L. deliense ); China, Taiwan Province, Penghu Islands, from Rattus exulans (Peale) ( L. deliense sinense ); China, Hainan Province, Paracel Islands, from Rattus tanezumi Temminck [= Rattus flavipectus (Milne-Edwards) ] ( L. deliense microsetosa ).

Remarks. Vercammen-Grandjean and Langston (1976) give fPp = N/N/BNB for L. deliense in the text of description. This is an obvious error, because in their figures, identification key, and the section concerning species grouping, fPp = N/N/BNN.

Subspecies L. deliense sinense and L. deliense microsetosa have no significant differences from the nominate subspecies. Their diagnoses do not allow identification of new materials. Therefore, I consider these forms as examples of individual variation within the same species.
