Type locality: not stated.

Material in MHNG, Lamarck collection: 3 specimens, among them 2 probable syntypes, MHNG INVE 51738 (ex MHNG 1098/40) (figured herein, Fig. 12A – C View FIGURE 12 ); 1098/40/1 : 31.2mm (? Lamarck, 1816: pl. 426, fig. 3); 1098/40/2 : 41.7 mm (Kiener: 47, pl. 29, fig. 2); 1098/40/3 : 28.0 mm. Locality on the label: Afrique occidentale.

Remarks: According to Rosalie de Lamarck, her father’s collection contained two specimens.

Current taxonomic position: Pusionella aculeiformis ( Lamarck, 1816) ; placed in genus Pusionella [ Turridae ] by Gray (1850): 68. Locality is West Africa.
