Material in MHNG, Lamarck collection: 2 specimens ( MHNG INVE 51726 (ex MHNG 1098/28); 1098/28/1 : 5703 mm; 1098/28/2 : 62 mm . No locality on label.

Remarks: According to Rosalie de Lamarck, her father’s collection contained two specimens. Deshayes gives only pre - Linnaean (and Lamarckian) references for this species.

Current taxonomic position: Austrofusus glans ( Röding, 1798) ; placed in synonymy with Austrofusus glans [ Buccinidae ] by Finlay (1927): 412. Locality is New Zealand.
