Note

The Hyaenodontida is traditionally placed in the extinct order Creodonta together with the Oxyaenidae . Noting the possible paraphyly or polyphyly of Creodonta , several recent works have assigned Hyaenodontidae to a monotypic order, Hyaenodontida ( Grohé et al., 2012; Solé, 2013; Solé et al., 2013b; Morlo et al., 2014).
