Agriocleptes albosparsus ( Stål, 1854)

The genus Agriocleptes Stål, 1866, has eight species ( Forero & Giacchi 2001; Forero 2002). Forero (2002) give an uptodate key to separate all the known species of the genus. A. albosparsus was described from Brazil, with additional records from Surinam and Paraguay ( Wygodzinsky 1946, 1953; Maldonado 1990). The specimens listed here for A. albosparsus ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 19 – 27 ) are a new record from Colombia and Panama. The specimens from the Caribbean coast of Colombia are the northernmost records, and that from Panama is the most western one, not only of the species but also of the genus.
