Emesa annulata ( Dohrn, 1860) View in CoL
Wygodzinsky (1966) gave a key to separate the four species included in Emesa ( Maldonado 1990) . Among the Emesa species, this species is easily identified by the particular wing venation, the basal cell of forewing being longer than wide and located between the large discal cell and the elongated subasal one ( Wygodzinsky 1966). E. annulata has been recorded from USA (Arizona), Mexico, Honduras, Belize, and Panama ( Wygodzinsky 1966; Maldonado 1990), now extending considerably its southern range into continental South America. The only examined specimen is a new generic record from Colombia.
Material examined: COLOMBIA, one specimen without abdomen, Valle del Cauca, CajambreValle, VIII1983, E. Kavin [ UVCO].
