Range: —Endemic to Bolivia (CO, LP), likely to occur in southermost Peru.
Ecology: —Very common; terrestrial in grasslands, open scrub, and along roadsides, often forming huge, dense colonies, in humid to semihumid habitats; (2400–) 3000–4600 m.
Notes: —The specimens here treated under this species were formerly assigned to E. mathewsii (Fée) T.Moore , but Kessler (2013) considered that species to occur only from Peru northwards.
