Range: —Western Amazonia from southern Colombia and western Brazil to Bolivia (CO).
Ecology: —Rare; hemiepiphytic in humid forests, on clay soils; to 1500 m.
Notes: — Polybotrya polybotryoides (Baker) Christ from southern Mexico to central Peru may occur in Bolivia. It differs from P. crassirhizoma and P. fractiserialis by anastomosing veins of the sterile pinnules, conform apical pinnae, and often entire to crenulate (vs. serrulate) pinna margins.
