Polystichum hartwegii (Klotzsch) Hieron., Hedwigia View in CoL 46: 355. 1907.
Range: —Southern Mexico to Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia (LP).
Ecology: —Rare; terrestrial at humid forest edges and roadsides; 1300–2800 m.
Notes: —Very similar to P. lehmannii , which mainly differs by lacking indusia, even though the two species are not closely related ( McHenry & Barrington 2014). Polystichum hartwegii is part of a difficult taxonomic complex centered in southern Mexico and Mesoamerica.
