( Figs 13, 14, 23)
Type material. Holotype ( Figs 13, 23): male, “ 10–20.VIII.2012 N Thailand, Chiang Mai Prov., Thong Chai Range, near Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden , 700m, 18°54´10.59´´N 98°51´46.05´´E, edge of secondary forest, local collector leg.” / “Slide ZSM Arct. 2020- 209♂ A. Volynkin ” (MWM/ ZSM, ex CAV). GoogleMaps
Paratype: 1 male, same data as for holotype, gen. prep. No.: AV5908 (prepared by Volynkin) ( CAV) GoogleMaps .
Diagnosis. The forewing length is 10.5 mm in males. The new species ( Figs 13, 14) is superficially similar to M. radaricola ( Figs 11, 12) but differs in the narrower forewing (the length to width ratio is 1.5:1 vs. 1.85: 1 in M. radaricola ), and the more diffuse forewing pattern. Compared to M. radaricola ( Figs 21, 22), the male genital capsule of M. eugoana sp. nov. ( Fig. 23) has a somewhat thinner uncus, a wider juxta, a more elongate valva with a more distally rounded distal lobe, a less setose sacculus and a longer and curved distal saccular process which is straight in M. radaricola . The phallus of the new species is shorter and narrower than that of M. radaricola . The vesica of M. eugoana sp. nov. is conspicuously shorter and narrower than in M. radaricola and has a smaller and membranous subbasal diverticulum which is granulated in M. radaricola . The medial diverticulum of the new species is conspicuously smaller and evenly granulated whereas it has a membranous basal section in M. radaricola . The lateral diverticulum of M. eugoana sp. nov. is positioned distally while it is positioned medially in M. radaricola . The lateral area of the vesica of the new species is membranous whereas it bears an elongate area of granulation in M. radaricola . Compared to M. radaricola , the terminal cornutus of M. eugoana sp. nov. is thicker and has a strongly dilated base (it is only slightly dilated basally in M. radaricola ).
Female unknown.
Distribution. Known only from its type locality in North Thailand (Chiang Mai Province).
Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the superficial similarity of the new species to monotonously colored members of the genus Eugoa Walker.
