Miltochrista radaricola ( Černý, 2009) , comb. nov.
( Figs 11, 12 View FIGURES 9–16 , 21, 22 View FIGURES 21–24 , 28 View FIGURES 25–29 )
Hypeugoa radaricola Černý , in Černý & Pinratana, 2009, Moths of Thailand, 6: 203 (Type locality: C. Thailand, Nakhon Nayok, Khao Yai NP, Mt. Khao Kaew GoogleMaps , 1244m, 14°21´56´´N, 101°24´E) (see remark).
Type material examined. Holotype ( Figs 11 View FIGURES 9–16 , 21 View FIGURES 21–24 ): “ C. Thailand Nakhon Nayok, Khao Yai NP, Mt. Khao Kaew , 1244m, 14°21´56´´N, 101°24´E female 21.V.2005 leg et ex ovo Karel Černý” / “ Holotype Hypeugoa radaricola Karel Cerný, 2009 ” / “Genitalpräparat Heterocera Nr. 33.811 Museum Witt München” (MWM/ ZSM) GoogleMaps . Paratypes. THAILAND: 1 male, 1 female, Saraburi, Khao Yai NP, Mt. Khao Kaew , 1244m, 14°21´56´´N, 101°24´E, larva 31. V GoogleMaps .2005, ex l. K. Černý, gen. prep. No.: AV6437 (male) (prepared by Volynkin) ( CKC) .
Additional material examined. THAILAND: 2 females, Nakhon Ratchasima, 600m, Wang, Nam Kiew , 14°27.55´N 101°59.55´E, 28.X.2010, K. Černý leg., gen. prep. No.: AV5577 (prepared by Volynkin) ( CKC) GoogleMaps ; 1 female, 7–12.VIII.2013, Nakhon Ratchasima Prov. (Korat), Saeng Sang, Lam Sae Dam , Tha Plan NP, 250m, 14°16´40´´N 102°25´28.5´´E, light trap, A. V GoogleMaps . Korshunov leg. ( CAV) .
Remark. In the original description, the holotype label was incorrectly cited as “C. Thailand, Saraburi, Khao Yai NP, Khao Khiew, 1244m. 14[°]21´56´´N, 101[°]24´E, larve 31.V.2005, ex larva K.Černý”. However, the holotype was described, illustrated ( Černý & Pinratana 2009) and labeled as well that makes its identification undoubtful. The type locality, the Mount Khao Kaew is situated in Nakhon Nayok Province and not in Saraburi as it is incorrectly written in the labels of the paratypes.
Diagnosis. The forewing length is 10–12.5 mm in males and 13–15 mm in females. Males of the species significantly vary in size but the genitalia structure is invariable. The detailed comparison with M. eugoana sp. nov. is provided below in the diagnosis of the latter species. Besides M. eugoana sp. nov., the male genital capsule of M. radaricola ( Figs 21, 22 View FIGURES 21–24 ) is also reminiscent of that of the externally dissimilar M. testata ( Figs 15, 16 View FIGURES 9–16 , 24 View FIGURES 21–24 ) but can be easily distinguished by the evenly slender uncus (it is subapically dilated in M. testata ), the more elongate valva with the only slightly distally dilated distal section (it is strongly dilated in M. testata ), the swollen medial section of the costa (it is flat in M. testata ), the basally broader and setose sacculus (equal in width to the basal section of the valva vs. 2/3 of the width in M. testata in which it is smooth), and the shorter and straight distal saccular process which is smoothly curved dorsad in M. testata . The phallus of M. radaricola is somewhat longer and wider than in M. testata . The vesica of M. radaricola is markedly broader than in M. testata , has a conspicuously broader medioventral diverticulum and fields of heavier granulation. The terminal cornutus of M. radaricola is shorter and thinner than that of M. testata . The female genitalia of the two species are rather dissimilar ( Figs 28, 29 View FIGURES 25–29 ). Compared to M. testata , the antrum of M. radaricola is conspicuously shorter, the corpus bursae has posterior and anterior areas of scobination and a transverse band-like signum medially but lacks a lateral sclerotized plate surrounded with robust spines, and the signum bursae is larger and elliptical whereas it is rounded in M. testata . Additionally, the appendix bursae of M. radaricola is markedly longer than in M. testata , twisted and weakly gelatinous and scobinated whereas it is shortly conical with a rounded tip and membranous in M. testata .
Distribution. Central Thailand (Nakhon Nayok and Nakhon Ratchasima Provinces) ( Černý & Pinratana 2009, the present study).
