Key to Chilean species of Calliopsis

1. Both sexes lacking yellow integumental bands on the metasoma ( Fig. 14)................... C. hirsutula ( Spinola, 1851)

- Both sexes with yellow integumental metasomal bands, sometimes narrow ( Figs. 1 –4 View FIGURES 1 – 12 , 15)............................ 2

2. Both sexes with face flat; head somewhat upturned in death; female with metasomal terga mostly yellow and orange (Fig. 1,3– 4); male with face mostly black ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ), T 1 with yellow markings................ C. rigormortis Dumesh & Packer , n. sp.

- Both sexes with face not unusually flattened; head not upturned in death; female with metasomal terga mostly black with narrow yellow markings on T 2 –T 4 ( Fig. 15); male with face mostly yellow below ( Fig. 16), T 1 entirely dark.............................................................................................
