Population structure and abundance. 1– 2 females and males of unidentified genera at the each sample. Remarks. The juveniles of mermithids parasitize terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates (predominantly insects) while adults are free living but do not feed. Most studies of the family have been carried out in the Northern hemisphere and some taxonomic issues are still obscure ( Holovachov & De Ley 2006a; Eyualem et al. 2008). We have found no published data on representatives of this family in Vietnam. Eyualem et al. (2008) indicate that 164 species of mermithids are known from the Oriental biogeographic region
