D e s c r i p t i o n. Leaf, simple, petiolate, petiole> 18 mm, lamina elliptic to rhombic, shallowly lobed, 33– 50 mm long, 25–53 mm wide, base obtuse to bluntly acute, apex acute rounded, venation pinnate, basal pair of secondary veins usually more prominent than following secondaries, 3–5 pairs of secondary veins, secondary veins with prominent abmedial veins, of which some enter rounded teeth.

R e m a r k s. The leaf morphological variability encountered in the fossil leaves is similar to the variability found in the modern species P. alba L. The ecology of this taxon comprises riparian stands and disturbed open stands.
