Remarks. The species is polymorphic. Lorenz (2005) recognized three subspecies, including the nominal one. The nominotypical is known from four West African countries ( Basilewsky 1968; Lorenz 2021). It was reported from the Old Portuguese Guinea by Brivio (1957), later Basilewsky (1968) and Serrano (2009a) briefly referred to that species as known from this country. Some adult specimens captured during the 1992, 1995 and 2006 entomological missions to Guinea-Bissau (see material examined) were misinterpreted and identified as S. lineola by Serrano (2009a). As the precedent species, S. nigeriana nigeriana seems common in Guinea-Bissau and the adults are active during the wet season, occurring at the edges of bogs within open savannah patches, open secondary forests, or even semi-humid forests also. See also the syntopic species/subspecies for the 2009 reported sites ( Table 1 View TABLE 1 ). It is a new species record for QUN and TOB Administrative Regions, Guinea-Bissau.
