( Figs 14 View FIGURES 14–19 –25)

Diagnosis. Related to P. monserrate (Mendivil et al.) , P. quimbaya (Mendivil et al.) and P. yari n. sp. It is closer to P. quimbaya , differing from it by the posterior processes of the central sclerite of the hypandrium ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 14–19 ) and by the shape of the anterior and mesal endophallic sclerites ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 14–19 ).

Male. Color. Body brown. Head ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 14–19 ) with two dark brown oblique bands, from the inner margin of each compound eye to the epistomal sulcus, surrounding the antennal fossae, a small band reaching the ocellar triangle. Compound eyes black; ocelli hyaline on ochre spot, with ochre centripetal crescents. Vertex creamy, with small light brown spots. Postclypeus dark brown, with ochre converging thin bands, forming a V-shaped area. Anteclypeus brown, paler on the sides. Labrum brown. Genae brown. Postgenae cream, with small brown spots. Antennae: scape and pedicel brown; flagellomeres light brown, with apices cream. Maxillary palps light brown, Mx4 darker. Tergal lobes of meso- and metathorax dark brown. Thoracic pleura: pro- and mesopleura dark brown, with cream spots; metapleura cream, with small ochre spots. Legs: fore-, middle coxae and trochanters brown; hind coxae and trochanters cream; fore- and mid- femora brown proximally, creamy distally; hind femora cream, with brown spots; tibiae and tarsi light brown. Wings hyaline, forewing pterostigma dark brown, with a hyaline area in the lower angle; a brown spot at the end of vein R2+3, R4+5 and M1 and a brown marginal band from R4+5 to 1A; the band with hyaline fenestrae on each side of vein ends. Hindwings veins brown. Abdomen dark brown to ochre, with small, light brown spots. Hypandrium dark brown to cream. Phallosome dark brown, mesal sclerite with hyaline areas. Epiproct and paraprocts light cream, subcuticularly with ochre spots.

Morphology. Head ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 14–19 ) H/MxW: 1.50; large compound eyes, H/d: 3.23; IO/MxW: 0.73; vertex at the same level of the upper margin of the compound eyes; outer cusp of lacinial tips broad, with 7-8 denticles. Hindwings ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 14–19 ) l/w: 2.96; M two branched. Central sclerite of the hypandrium ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 14–19 ) with two posterior projections, wide and curved outwards, narrowing distally, acuminate; side sclerites elongate, widely separated from the central sclerites. Phallosome ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 14–19 ) V-shaped anteriorly; each arm of side struts with a broad, rounded process proximally on inner edge; external parameres curved, elongate, distally rounded; five endophallic sclerites; anterior pair wide, broadly triangualar; lateral sclerites proximally curved outwards, distally dilated, acuminate; mesal sclerite broadly M shaped, with posterior median processes acuminate, mesal sclerite processes elongate, acuminate. Paraprocts ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 14–19 ) F IGURES 20–25. Ptiloneura bernali n. sp. Female. 20. Forewing. 21. Hindwing. 22. Front view of head. 23. Subgenital plate. 24.
