( Figs. 21–22 View FIGURE 21 View FIGURE 22 )
Tyloperla courtneyi Stark & Sivec, 2005: 1 View in CoL View Cited Treatment ; Stark & Sivec, 2014: 41.
Supplementary description. Head pale, with a dark brown subtriangular spot on frons and a dark brown subrectangular interocellar patch. Tergum 7 posteromedially with a small, oval, medial patch of sensilla basiconica. Tergum 8 with large, laterally lobed semicircular posteromedial sclerotized portion, bearing dense sensilla basiconica. Tergum 9 medially lightly sclerotized, but with large patch of sensilla basiconica on a hump, posterior edge with darkly sclerotized portion. Hemitergal processes of tergum 10 flat and triangular in lateral view. Aedeagus ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 ): the everted aedeagus is hook-shaped, mostly membranous, with a blunt tip; basal sclerite well developed. Aedeagal tube ventrally with a pair of small, indistinct subapical lobes, and a pair of ventrolateral lobes in the apical part, the latter are armed with small triangular spines; lateral surface of apical half covered with a small patch of small spines. Aedeagal sac strongly curved dorsally, forming an open loop; apical half fully armed with triangular spines gradually lessen towards the apex, but apical spines denser except for bare basal half of the ventral surface.
Material examined. 8 males ( HIST), China: Guangxi, Guilin City, Multinational Autonomous County of Longsheng, Huaping National Nature Reserve , Cujiang Station , 25°36'16" N, 109°54'21" E, 887 m, 2020.VI.16, light trap, Mo RR, Lai Y et al GoogleMaps .
Remarks. This species was originally described from Doi Inthanon National Park of Chiang Mai City, northern Thailand by Stark & Sivec (2005). Eight male specimens of this species from Guangxi of southern China agree well a posteromedial patch of sensilla basiconica, and aedeagal tube subapically with a pair of indistinct small ventral lobes and laterally covered with a small subapical patch of tiny spines (compare Figs. 21–22 View FIGURE 21 View FIGURE 22 with fig. 1–4 in Stark & Sivec 2005), while in the type specimens, the spines of spiny lobes slightly extended to dorsal surface. These differences can be regarded as intraspecific variation. We provide additional color illustrations ( Figs. 21–22 View FIGURE 21 View FIGURE 22 ) for aiding the recognition of this species.
