Material
H : female, Australia , NSW, Mosman , near Sydney, 12 January 1957 (W. W. Wirth) ( USNM).
Etymology The species is named after Thomas Borgmeier, who first recognized the species.
Diagnosis
With only one pair of bristles on scutellum; femora essentially yellow.
The female of this species was described by Borgmeier under A. palpalis . It is distinguished in the key below.

The type series comprises two males from New Zealand, one of which I have examined in the Museum Koenig (Bonn). I have subsequently reported three males from Auckland (Disney, 1994a). I now report further males from Tasmania below [see postscript] .
