Type material: Holotype: 1 ♂, China: Hunan: Daoxian Co. (N 25°30', E 111°36'), 3 June 1988, L. S. Gong ( HNU, examined). GoogleMaps

Other material examined. China: Hainan: 1 ♂, 1 ♀, Qionghai City, Changpo Township , evergreen seasonal forest, 20 May 1990, M.B. Gu ( IZCAS) ; 1 ♀, Lingshui Co., Diaoluoshan Mountains , road fork (N18º39.955', E109º55.811', alt. 80 m), 15 April 2009 ( IZCAS, Tang_No. 191) GoogleMaps .
Diagnosis. This species can be easily separated from P. pingxiang Zhu & Ono, 2007 by VTA small digitiform (thick spinous in P. pingxiang ), RTA hook-like distally (conical in P. pingxiang ).
Distribution. China (Hainan, Hunan, Yunnan).
Remarks. This species was placed wrongly under Tmarus (Yin et al. 2004: 14) . After examining the types, we transferred it to Philodamia referring to the descriptions of P. pingxiang and P. tongmian ( Zhu & Ono 2007: 77–80) .
