Type material. CHINA, Hainan: Holotype ♂, Jianfengling (18.74°N, 108.87°E), Ledong County, 770 m, 29.V.2015, leg. PX Cong et al., slide No. YAH15510 ( NKU). GoogleMaps

Diagnosis. The new species is similar to M. recticostata sp. nov. in the male genitalia by having a clavate uncus and a valva serrate on the ventral margin. It can be distinguished by the valva without a spine at apex, the sacculus without a digitate process at ventroapical corner, and the saccus almost as long as uncus; in M. recticostata , the valva has a spine at apex, the sacculus has a large digitate process at ventroapical corner, and the saccus distinctly shorter than the uncus.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 9–14 ). Forewing length 5.0 mm.

Head greyish black, occiput mixed with yellow laterally. Labial palpus with first and second segments greyish black on outer surface; second segment with a greyish-brown spot at apex; third segment with greyish-black scales. Antenna with scape pale yellow; flagellum blackish grey alternated with yellow.

Thorax and tegula greyish black. Forewing greyish black, mixed with yellow; costal margin with inner yellow spot from basal 1/3 obliquely outward to middle of cell, rectangular, edged with black scales posteriorly, outer yellow spot at distal 1/4, inverted triangular, ill-defined, with a greyish-black dot anteromedially; dorsal yellow spot small; fold with a black spot at basal 3/5, bordered by yellow scales; cell with a yellow spot at outer margin, bordered by black scales; fringe greyish black mixed with greyish-yellow scales. Hindwing and fringe greyish black. Legs yellow; on ventral surface, femora and tibiae of fore- and midlegs as well as hind tibia with greyish-black scales, fore tarsus greyish black except yellow at apices of basal two and apical one tarsomeres, mid tarsus greyish black except yellow at apex of each tarsomere, hind tarsus with basal three tarsomeres greyish black except yellow at apices.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 31–36 ). Uncus slender, clavate, pointed at apex. Gnathos sclerotized laterally, very short, wide basally, narrowed distally, not joined anteromedially. Tegumen narrowed medially, produced posterolaterally, concave in V-shape on anterior margin; lateral arm short, triangular. Valva with basal 2/3 narrow, parallel, widened at distal 1/3, then slightly narrowed to rounded apex, with a setose pad near base; ventral margin serrate; costa slightly concave near base, with sparse long setae; transtilla shortly extended, pointed apically. Sacculus sub-rectangular, length about 1.5 times of width, sclerotized dorsally; apex obliquely truncate, with dense long setae. Saccus wide at base, narrowed to rounded apex, about same length as uncus. Juxta narrow, semi-annular. Aedeagus 1.7 times length of valva, basal half clavate, distal half widened, nearly 3.0 times as wide as basal half, with two short spines at apex; cornutus spine-shaped, with an enlarged ovate basal plate, placed at distal 1/4.

Female unknown.

Distribution. China (Hainan).

Etymology. The specific epithet is from the type locality, Ledong County, Hainan Province.
