Head ( Fig. 155 View FIGURES 155–165 ) 0.6–0.7 times as long as wide, slightly constricted just behind compound eyes and rounded at cheeks, sculptured with transverse anastomosing striae dorsally. Ocellar setae III at outside of or near margin of ocellar triangle, slightly shorter than longitudinal diameter of hind ocelli. Postocular setae I the longest and subequal length to ocellar setae III, II and IV very small. Antennae ( Fig. 156 View FIGURES 155–165 ) 7-segmented, II with or without weak microtrichial rows dorsally, III the longest, III to VI rounded at each side and with distal fourth gently tapering like neck, with sensoria slightly long, 28–38 microns long, IV to V pedicelate, VI widest near base and tapering, with 10 setae. Antennal segments I to VIII length/width ratio as follows: 0.8–1.0, 1.4–1.5, 2.6–3.1, 2.3–3.0, 1.8–2.3, 2.4–2.8, 3.0–3.6. Pronotum ( Fig. 155 View FIGURES 155–165 ) 0.6–0.8 times as long as wide, distinctly sculptured with transverse anastomosing striae, with 14–21 discal setae; anterior margin often with slightly long setae; posteroangular setae 2 pairs, setae I 0.5–0.7 times as long as pronotal median length and subequal length to setae II; posteromarginal setae 2 pairs, setae I much longer than setae II. Mesonotum ( Fig. 157 View FIGURES 155–165 ) sculptured with narrow spaced transverse anastomosing striae except anteromedially; CPS absent anteromedially. Metascutum weakly sculptured with circular striae or ill-formed reticulations medially; median pair of setae behind anterior margin, 0.5–0.6 times as long as metascutal median length; CPS absent. Fore wing costal vein with 24–28 setae; first vein with long gap in setal row, seven basal and three distal setae, second vein with 9–13 setae. Abdominal tergites III to VIII ( Figs. 159, 160 View FIGURES 155–165 ) with no lines of sculpture extending to mesad of S1 setae; tergite II with three lateral marginal setae; tergite VIII with posteromarginal comb complete, but length of microtrichia often irregular; tergite IX with posterior pair of CPS only, S1, S2, S3 and MD setae each 1.1–1.4, 1.5–1., 1.5–1.8 times and 0.5–0.7 times as long as median length of the tergite; tergite X with S1 and S2 setae each 1.7–2.2 and 1.6–1.9 times as long as median length of the tergite; sternite I without microsetae anteromedially; sternite II with two pairs of posteromarginal setae; sternites III to V or VI ( Fig. 161 View FIGURES 155–165 ) with one to eight discal setae arranged in irregular transverse row; sternite VII with S1 setae far from posterior margin; pleurotergites with one to two discal setae, with small dentate microtrichia. Ovipositor 1.9–2.3 times as long as pronotal median length.

Measurements of Holotype female. Distended body length 1600. Head length 101 (length including anterior prolongation 107), width across cheeks 153; compound eye dorsal length 61, width 40. Pronotal median length 115, width 178; posteroangular setae I length 79–84, setae II length 85–87; posteromarginal setae I length 38. Metascutal median length 80, median setae length 41–45. Fore wing length 825, width at middle 50. Abdominal tergite IX median length 78; S1 setae length 99–105, S2 setae length 120–121, S3 setae length 125–130, MD setae length 53–56; tergite X length 59; S1 setae length 111–113, S2 setae length 103–104. Ovipositor length 255. Antennal segments I to VII length (width) as follows: 25 (30), 38 (28), 53 (19), 48 (19), 38 (18), 50 (19), 21 (6).

Type series. Holotype female, Japan, Hokkaido, Ebetsu City, Nopporo-shinrinkouen Park, on leaves of Juglans mandshurica [ Juglandaceae ], 30-ix-2006, M. Masumoto.

Paratypes: 56 females, 44 males, same data as holotype . 75 females, 6males same data as the holotype other than collecters (M. Masumoto & T. Nonaka). Honshu: Fukushima Pref., Fukushima City , Matsukawa-cho : 21 females, 8 males on leaves of Fraxinus sieboldiana [ Oleaceae ], 30-ix-2000, T. Tsutsumi ( FU). Fukushima Pref., Fukushima City, Fukushima University : 6 females on leaves of Fraxinus sieboldiana , 3-x-2002, M. Masumoto ; 2 females on leaves of Fraxinus sieboldiana , 4-x-2002, M. Masumoto. The holotype is deposited in TUA and most paratype are deposited in TUA and FU .

Non-paratypic specimens: Hokkaido, Tomakomai City, Takaoka-shinrinkouen Park, 7 females on leaves of Syringa reticulate [ Oleaceae ], 27-ix-2004, T. Tsutsumi ( FU).

Biology. This species is very similar to T. syringae described below and both species often are collected together. This species apparently breeds on Oleaceae leaves as in T. syringae although many individuals of both sexes, including the holotype, were collected from Juglandaceae .

Comments. This species lacks discal setae on abdominal sternite VII as in species of orientalis -group.

Etymology. In reference to Dr. Toshufumi Nonaka who was helped collect the material of this species.
