Thrips subnudula (Karny) View in CoL
( Figs. 214–217 View FIGURES 207–222 )
Ramaswamiahiella subnudula Karny, 1926: 208 View in CoL .
This species is unique in the genus by having more than 10 posteromarginal setae on abdominal sternites III to VI ( Fig. 216 View FIGURES 207–222 ). According to Mound & Masumoto (2005), females have 6 posteromarginal setae on abdominal sternite VII and the male has narrow transverse pore plates on sternites III to V, but in the specimens studied here females have 7 or 8 posteromarginal setae on sternite VII and a male has pore plates on sternites III to VII ( Fig. 217 View FIGURES 207–222 ). This species is distributed in India, Pakistan, Australia (Queensland) and Nigeria, and is newly recorded from Ryukyus, Japan.
Specimens examined. JAPAN: Ryukyus, Okinawa Pref., Yonaguni-jima Is., 17 females, 1 male on Fabaceae , 15-xii-2004, K. Minoura ( TUA) .
