Type locality. Fanal, Island of Madeira.

Lectotype: 1„, 16 July 1850, Madeira [290] Fanal, leg. Wollaston (ex litt.) [Type] [ lamellipes, Woll ]. Mounted together with one female paralectotype. NHM, London . Paralectotypes: 1♀ (on the same card as the lectotype), same data ; 5„„, 5♀♀ ‘‘in montibus Madeira’ ’ (incl. Fateiras), leg. Wollaston. MNH, London. 3 exx [75]; 1 ex [244]; 8 exx [430]; 3 exx [795], Lombo das Vacas; 1 ex [815]; 1 ex [933], hills above Santa Cruz. UMO, Oxford. 1„ (Wollaston card) [vielleicht Type]. (Coll. Comment. L. lamellipes is the type species by original designation of the genus Atlantis Wollaston, 1854 , transferred as subgenus of Laparocerus by Lacordaire (1863, p 200).
