Type locality. Monte Ajare (Valverde) and montaña Las Rosas (San Andrés), El Hierro, Canary Islands .
Lectotype: 1„ (violet card-line). El Hierro, leg. Wollaston [Canary Is./El Hierro/Wollaston Coll./BM 1864–80] [ mendicus Woll. ]. NHM, London. Paralectotypes: 4 exx, El Hierro, leg. Wollaston. NHM, London. 6 exx, same data [Hope Entomological/Collections/ Wollaston Coll.] [ Laparocerus / mendicus Woll. ]. UMO, Oxford. 4 exx, same data. MNHN (Coll. Oberthür-Wollaston), Paris.
Remarks. All syntypes were collected by Wollaston in February 1858 on the hills around Valverde (probably ‘‘monte Ajare’’), as well as on the open grassy cumbre to the south of San Andrés (‘‘montaña Las Rosas’’). There is no way to identify from which of these localities a given syntype originated.
