Type locality. Tenerife, Canary Islands.

Lectotype: 1♀ [ simplex / Br] [Type] [ Museum Paris / Canaries / Webb et Berthelot /3-41]. MNHN (Coll. Générale), Paris. Specimen pinned through and a blue circular label just below the insect . Paralectotype: 1♀ [ simplex / Br] [3.41] [Paratype] [Museum Paris / Canaries / Webb et Berthelot /3-41]. MNHN (Coll. Générale), Paris .

Remarks. Wollaston (1864, p 338) treated Laparocerus simplex (Brulle´, 1839) as a junior synonym of Laparocerus tetricus (Boheman, 1834) .
