Figures 4–5 View FIGURE 4 View FIGURE 5

Description. Male. Body large. Face ovoid; fastigium verticis about twice as wide as scape; fastigium frontis separated from fastigium verticis by a very fine suture ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ). Ocelli distinct.

Anterior margin of pronotum projecting in middle, posterior margin faintly concave ( Fig. 4B View FIGURE 4 ); lateral lobes longer than high, anterior angle arched, posterior angle rounded angular, humeral sinus indistinct ( Fig. 4C View FIGURE 4 ).

Wings slightly surpassing the hind femora. Fore coxae with 1 small spine. Fore and middle femora unarmed; hind femora with 5–6 internal and 6–8 external spines. Fore and middle tibiae with 4 pairs of spurs and 1 pair of apical spurs on ventral surfaces. Hind tibiae dorsally with 5 internal spines, 6 external spines and 1 pair of apical spurs, ventral surface with 1 pair of subapical spurs and 2 pairs of apical spurs.

Second and third abdominal tergites with few, very minute stridulatory pegs ( Fig. 4D View FIGURE 4 ). Eighth abdominal tergite prolonged. Ninth abdominal tergite semi-globular: prolonged and down-curved; apical half furrowed in midline, at end of furrow split and on both sides of split area with an obtuse bump and below bump with a small compressed process faintly pointing ventrad ( Fig. 4G–I View FIGURE 4 ). Subgenital plate almost twice as wide as long; posterior margin widely rounded with bilobate projection in middle ( Fig. 4H View FIGURE 4 ); styli inserted laterally at posterior margin.

Female. Seventh abdominal sternite wider than long, ventral surface nearly triangularly convex, the lateral margins obliquely narrowing, the apical third constricted and terminating into a short process reaching the basal third area of subgenital plate, apex of the process obtuse ( Fig. 5G View FIGURE 5 ). Subgenital plate transverse; basal area with fine transverse riffles, the lateral margins convex and terminating into middle area; lateral margins of middle area constricted; apical half with lateral margins subparallel, posterior margin with median concavity, the lateral lobes obtuse ( Fig. 5G View FIGURE 5 ). Ovipositor upcurved, especially in subbasal area, margins slightly and gradually narrowing towards apices; with apical widening; apices subacute ( Fig. 5E View FIGURE 5 ).

Coloration. Body green. Wings brown with black cells. Eyes brown. Ocelli pale yellow. Ventral spines of hind femora black. Ovipositor brown.

Measurements (mm). Male: BL 26.06–28.46, PL 6.25–6.80, TL 22.30–22.89, HFL 14.44–15.11; Female: BL 33.95, PL 7.13, TL 26.16, HFL 15.62, OvL 19.92.

Material examined. Holotype: male, Xima, Yingjiang , Yunnan, July 16, 2023, coll. by Weizong Yang . Paratypes: 1 male, Xima, Yingjiang, Yunnan, August 26, 2023, coll. by Weizong Yang ; 1 female, Xima, Yingjiang , Yunnan, July 13, 2023, coll. by Weizong Yang .

Distribution. Yunnan (Yingjiang).

Discussion. The new species differs from other species of Eugryllacris by the middle area of male subgenital plate projecting ( Fig. 4H View FIGURE 4 ) with median concavity and the lateral lobes triangular ( Fig. 4I View FIGURE 4 ) instead of nearly widely V-shaped concave; the process of female seventh abdominal sternite with short apical area and its apex without median concavity ( Fig. 5F, G View FIGURE 5 ).

Etymology. The new species is named for the male subgenital plate with bifurcated posterior margin.
