12. Procladius View in CoL . Community of soft bottoms typically with clays, silt deposits and sometimes with heavily silted gravel. These bottom types probably cannot provide the food base needed for detritophages (such as Chironomus ). Therefore, predatory chironomid species Procladius (Holotanypus) crassinervis (Zetterstedt) , feeding on meiobenthos or dead zooplankton organisms, colonize here. This habitat is usually a small area closely bordered with other areas. There are also common other chironomid species in low density.

Temporal macrobenthic communities

Those communities are associated with small drying up reservoirs on the sites of shallow hollows in the plain tundra and are represented by soil species of oligochaetes and chironomids.
