Material examined. One lv from mud at 2 m in Baie du Nord, NMW.Z.2000.086.00012.

Description. A small left valve, 2.62 6 1.95 mm. Fragile. Inequilateral with beaks slightly in front of midline. Outline roundly oblong with dorsal margins dipping towards beak. Sculpture weak, of concentric lines and infrastructural pitting as seen in S. anomala . Hinge weak. Posterior laterals distant from beak; cardinal c1 indistinct, c2 long and projecting. Shell white in colour.

Remarks. We could find no similar shells amongst the type material of those species described by Deshayes and Sowerby.
