Ambrosiodmus declivispinatus (Schedl) View in CoL : Wood & Bright, 1992: 672.
Xyleborus declivispinatus (Schedl) View in CoL : Hulcr and Cognato, 2013: 151.
Specimens examined. New Guinea, Chimbu Province, Karamui (paratype, FICB); New Guinea, Oro Province, Kanga (30 indiv., JH)
Comments. Hulcr & Cognato (2013) provide notes on biology and taxonomic history of this species with striking morphology. Adults of this species have been observed to create galleries in the same way as other large specimens of Euwallacea , further supporting the taxonomic move. They create extensive tunnels that branch several times on one horizontal plane. Adults colonize large moist branches or trunks, typically fallen in water.
