The laeviventris View in CoL -group

As here defined, this is the second most speciose group. The distributional range extends from the Eastern Mediterranean seaboard, eastward to the southern slopes of Himalayas; most species are known from Eastern

Mediterranean and Middle East. Many occupy warm and arid regions and in all likelihood are adapted to survive long periods of drought. Four subgroups are here recognised.
