Subgenus Paramimocolliuris Habu, 1979 View in CoL
Type species: Mimocolliuris (Paramimocolliuris) insulana Habu, 1979 by original designation.
The subgenus Paramimocolliuris was described from a single species characterized by the occurrence of two additional setae on its head, Mimocolliuris (Paramimocolliuris) insulana Habu, 1979 . The only other species belonging to this subgenus is M. (P.) sinuatiphallus Zhao & Tian, 2011 from China (Guangdong). However, we think that this single character is insufficient for a subgeneric separation and in our opinion both Paramimocolliuris and Essora Liebke, 1933 (another low diversity subgenus characterized by very subtle diagnostic features) should be synonymized with Mimocolliuris s. str. All of the other characters fit perfectly with those of the nominotypical subgenus; however, any taxonomic decision will require the study of additional material.
