Attelabus indicus Thunberg, 1784: 68 . Loc. Typ.: India.
Cicindela cyanocephala Fabricius, 1798: 60 View in CoL . Loc. Typ.: India Or.
Distribution. Cambodia, China (Fujian; Yunnan), Indonesia (Maluku Isl., Sulawesi), India (Tamil Nadu; Uttarakhand), Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines (?), Australia (introduced).
Systematic notes: This species has a very wide distribution in southeast Asia and may have been introduced in Australia. The first mention we have that it is present in the Philippines is in the paper by Baehr (1996: 1080). However, there is no mention of O. indica when redescribing the species, nor its locality, and its presence is only briefly mentioned in the final conclusions. A subsequent suggestion is made by Anagha and Sabu (2024), but it is almost certainly taken from Baehr’s paper. We have not seen material of this species from the Philippines and remain doubtful about its presence in these islands.
