Diagnosis. A medium to large species with characteristic mottled coloration pattern of mesosoma. Description. Seyrig (1932).

Comments. As noticed by Seyrig, the size of this species is highly variable: the examined specimens have fore wing length ranging from 7 to 18 mm.

Distribution records. Reunion (new record). Madagascar.
