Diagnosis. In Reunion, this species may only be confused with E. mauritii , which also has a black inter-ocellar area and no central alar sclerite. The sinuous pattern of vein Rs+2r on the fore wing of E. mauritii is nevertheless characteristic.

Description. Gauld & Mitchell (1978).

Host records. Anomis leona ( Lepidoptera : Noctuidae ) and Haritalodes derogate ( Lepidoptera : Crambidae ) on cotton ( Gossypium hirsutum ) and kydia (Kydia calicina).

Distribution records. Reunion (new record). Widely distributed throughout Africa to Australia, Oceania, India and South-East Asia.
