Imago (fig. 17) Wingspan 10–14 mm. Head white, maxillary palpus with fuscous dorsal spot, labial palpus approximately equal to diameter of eye, tufted with apex dark brown, antenna dull ochreous. Thorax and tegulae white. Forewing white, a subbasal blackish spot near dorsum, curved fulvous double antemedian fascia outer edge having a blackish spot in middle, postmedian curved fulvous double facia with inner edge with blackish scales, termen ochreous, black terminal line, fringe pale fuscous with fringe line, Hindwing white, a double antemedian curved fascia with outer edge blackish, postmedia fascia with inner edge with blackish scales, blackish terminal line, fringe as forewing.

Male genitalia (fig. 59): Uncus spatulate, broadened before apex, gnathos broadly triangular; valva with apex sub-conical, a curved process above with a hook-like point, sacculus ending in a tapered point, a long digitate process arising near base of valva with spines near its apex. Aedeagus simple, of length similar to that of valva.

Female genitalia (fig. 91): Ostium small, situated in sternum 8, ductus bursae about half length of corpus, corpus ovoid, surface internally scobinate.

Diagnosis: A predominantly white species characterised by the gently rounded fascias, especially on the forewing.

Life history: not known.

Distribution: Sierra Leone, Ghana, D.R. Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Angola, Uganda,

Type material: HT ♀ Escarpment, 7500–8000ft, Kikuyu, IEEA, [ KENYA] E. Africa ( Doherty ) abdomen in gelatin capsule ( NHMUK) .
