Trichophysetis collinsi sp. n.

Imago (fig. 13): Wingspan 19 mm. Head white, maxillary palpus black, just less than diameter of eye, labial palpus black, 2.3×diameter of eye. Thorax, patagia and tegulae white. Forewing creamy white, subbasal fascia pale fuscous, angled to costa, antemedian fascia blackish sharply angled near costa preceded by pale fuscous suffusion, lunule white, blackish postmedian fascia, terminal area suffused pale fuscous especially towards costa, evenly curved subterminal line dark brown, becoming termen dorsally; fringe shining fuscous. Hindwing base whitish then becoming heavily suffused fuscous dorsally before antemedian fascia, white central band before postmedian fascia, terminal zone lightly suffused pale fuscous. fringe as forewing.

Male genitalia (fig.): not known.

Female genitalia (fig.): not examined.

Diagnosis: Distinguished by its size, wingspan 19 mm. which is greater than others in the genus, and the evenly curved fascias on the forewing.

Derivation: Named after the collector Steve Collins.

Life history: not known.

Type material: Holotype female, Kenya, Rift Valley , Matthews Range, Ngeng River 1.15° N 37.15° E 4200 ft. 14.vi.1998 S. Collins ( ABSRC). GoogleMaps
