Redsicription of adult.

Imago (fig. 22): Wingspan: 14–17 mm. Head whitish, maxillary palpus approximately equal to diameter of eye, labial palpus of male 3× diameter of eye. Thorax and tegulae pale fulvous. Forewing pale fulvous, fascias ill defined, but acutely angled to costa, black terminal line of irregular shape, towards costa preceded by white. Hindwing whitish, antemedian fascia in dorsal part of wing, postmedian fascia fuscous, further fuscous suffusion in the subterminal zone, terminal line blackish.

Male genitalia (fig. 63): Uncus broad, gnathos tapered, ⅔ length of uncus, valva narrow, sacculus broad and extending to ¾ length of valva, a pair of pointed structures inside the valvae, saccus a blunt digitate process just ¼ length of valva. Aedeagus simple and straight.

Female genitalia (fig. 95): Ostium wide and circular, about ⅓ width of abdomen, antrum almost half width of ostium, ductus bursae long, gradually widening before corpus bursae which is ovoid, without signum.

Diagnosis: Distinguished by the structure arising from the base of the vinculum in the male genitalia.

Life history: not known.

Distribution: Kenya.

Type material: HT Escarpment, 7500–8000ft, Kikuyu, IEEA, E. Africa, ix–x. 1900 (Doherty) Escarpment, Jan. 1901, Feb. 1901 (2), Mar. 1901 (3) including BM Pyralidae genitalia slide 23310 ( NHMUK) .
