Measurements (n= 5). Total length: 17.7–18.5; head length: 1.4–1.7; head width: 3.2–3.2; pronotum length: 3.7–3.7; pronotum width: 11.5–12.1; scutellum length: 8.4–8.6; scutellum width: 6.3–6.7; abdominal width: 10.0– 10.2; length antennomers: I: 1.0–1.0; II: 1.2–1.4; III: 1.5–1.9; IV: 3.5–3.5; V: 3.1.

Diagnosis. Specimens large (17.7–18.5 mm). Dorsal surface green ( Fig. 27 A View FIGURE 27 ). Ventral surface dark yellow to orange with transversal black lines on thorax and abdomen ( Fig. 27 B View FIGURE 27 ). Antennae brown ( Fig. 27 A View FIGURE 27 ). Pronotum with punctures brown with surface ( Fig. 27 A View FIGURE 27 ). Anterolateral angle of pronotum with a yellow band that extends from the humeral angle to the head. Humeral angles long (0,6 times longer than wide) ( Fig. 27 A View FIGURE 27 ), apices brown ( Fig. 27 A View FIGURE 27 ); humeral angle brown spot restricted to the angle in dorsal and ventral views ( Fig. 27 A,B View FIGURE 27 ). Scutellum with punctures brown ( Fig. 27 A View FIGURE 27 ); apex on the same level end of corium ( Fig. 27 A View FIGURE 27 ). Corium with all veins concolorous with surface ( Fig. 27 A View FIGURE 27 ). Posterolateral angles of connexivum with apices concolorous with surface ( Fig. 27 A View FIGURE 27 ); connexival segments without spot and with a pair of concavities ( Fig. 27 A View FIGURE 27 ). Ventral surface. Thorax with black stripes ( Fig. 27 B View FIGURE 27 ); dark stripe of the propleuron covering 2/3 of the width of the sclerite ( Fig. 27 B View FIGURE 27 ). Proepisternum with dark stripe ( Fig. 27 B View FIGURE 27 ). Evaporatorium concolorous with thorax ( Fig. 27 B View FIGURE 27 ). Metasternal process ( Fig. 12 G View FIGURE 12 ) with anterior apex straight and laterally well expanded, margin acuminated; anterior face broadly excavated; anterior bifurcation receiving fourth and a small part of the third rostral segment. Legs brown ( Fig. 27 B View FIGURE 27 ). Abdomen with spine of third segment acuminated ( Fig. 12 G View FIGURE 12 ). Intersegmental areas black, not reaching lateral margin ( Fig. 27 B View FIGURE 27 ). Pseudosutures solid black, margin well defined ( Fig. 27 B View FIGURE 27 ). Median longitudinal brown band restricted to last segment ( Fig. 27 B View FIGURE 27 ). Black circular spot near the spiracles ( Fig. 27 B View FIGURE 27 ). Trichobotria one in line with spiracle and the other laterad. Posterolateral angles of segment VII not reaching the level of apices of laterotergites IX in females ( Fig. 12 F View FIGURE 12 ). Male genitalia, dorsal side of the pygophore with a suffused brown area occupying 1/3 of the surface ( Fig. 12 A,B,D View FIGURE 12 ). Posterolateral angle of the pygophore developed ( Fig. 12 A View FIGURE 12 ). Superior process of genital cup laminar, rectangular, thick; flattened and coarse in posterior view, continuing ventrally in a crenulated short carina ( Fig. 12 B,D,E View FIGURE 12 ). Ventral rim with long setae. but without lateral tufts ( Fig. 12 C View FIGURE 12 ). Female genitalia, valvifers VIII with a small rounded projection ( Fig. 12 F View FIGURE 12 ). Laterotergites VIII with dark band on outer lateral margins ( Fig. 12 F View FIGURE 12 ).

Male genitalia ( Fig. 12 A–E View FIGURE 12 ): Parameres with black margin; anterior lobe rounded; dorsal lobe rounded and subrectangular, apex curved; posterior lobe rounded and subtriangular ( Fig. 12 B,D,E View FIGURE 12 ). Proctiger with subelliptical posterior face ( Figs. 12 D,E View FIGURE 12 ). Ventral rim with expansions little developed, rounded, concolorous with surface, the expansions not reaching beyond apices of posterolateral angles ( Fig. 12 C View FIGURE 12 ).

Female genitalia: Valvifers VIII with concolorous with surface punctures; inner margins not contiguous, with brown band and divergent; distal margin forming V-shaped excavation, with a brown band and arched. Laterotergites IX with apices acuminate passing the sclerite uniting laterotergites VIII ( Fig. 12 F View FIGURE 12 ).

Comments. The male of Edessa (E.) leucocera is described here for the first time. This species is similar to E. (E.) fallenii . See comments of E. (E.) fallenii .
