Type-species: Agallia pteridis Matsumura View in CoL , by original designation.
Distribution. Old world distribution, mainly distributed in the Oriental region, ( China, India, Nepal, Burma, Indonesia, Malaysia), Japan, Korea, and Russia.
Diagnosis. This genus belongs to the group of genera with the hind margin of the crown sinuate behind eyes and can be recognized by the following combination of characters: ocelli closer to adjacent eye than to each other; forewing claval veins connected by one or more cross veins; male pygofer lobe usually elongated, or with spinelike process or serrated hind margin; segment X usually weakly developed; aedeagus slender with well-developed dorsal apodeme and processes on dorsal apodeme, aedeagal shaft and preatrium ( Viraktamath 2011; Viraktamath et al. 2012).
