Diagnosis.—Mesonotum black with axillae and metanotum white; abdominal segment 1–6 mostly orange with white spots laterally on segments 1, 2, 5, 6. Sheath short, about 2X longer than broad.

Description.—Female ( Fig. 11 View Figs ): Length 13.1 mm. Antenna black. Head black with orbits (except upper) and area below antennae yellow. Thorax black, yellow on: pronotum (black spot in middle), spot anterior to mesepisternum, spot posterior to each lateral lobe, metascutellum. Legs with coxae and trochanters yellow, femora black, fore and mid tibiae yellow, hind tibia yellow with apex black; tarsi with basitarsi yellow, rest black. Abdomen with tergite 1 and laterally on tergite 2 yellow, tergites 3–6 orange, 5 and 6 laterally yellow; 7th black, 8th yellow spot laterally, 9 apically yellow, 10 yellow. Wings hyaline, veins and stigma black. Head ( Figs. 14, 15 View Figs ): Frons with longitudinal carinae from level of hind ocelli through supraclypeal area. Antennae with ~18 antennomeres. Labial palpus with 4 palpomeres, maxillary palpus with 4 palpomeres; first palpomere about as long as remaining palpomeres combined; 3 rd palpomere very short; apical palpomere clublike. Eyes slightly diverging below, lower interocular distance about 1.2X eye height. Head from above short behind eyes, distance behind eyes slightly shorter than eye length. Thorax ( Figs. 12, 13 View Figs ): Propleuron shiny, few punctures mostly ventrally. Pronotum shiny, diagonal area of short carinae at center. Mesonotum, metanotum rugulose; shiny less punctate areas on outer lateral lobes and apex of mesoscutellum; downturned sides of mesoscutellum shiny. Mesopleuron shiny with punctures, punctures separated by interspaces equal to or more than puncture diameters; mesosternum shiny, without punctures; mesepimeron with fine cross carinae, metapleuron rugulose. Hind basitarsus slightly shorter than remaining tarsomeres combined. Abdomen: Sheath ( Fig. 11 View Figs ) short, about 2X longer than broad, subequal in length to basal plates.

Male: Unknown.

Type material.— Holotype female “ Lao, Hua Phan Prov., Ban Saleui; Phou Pan Mt. , 20 ° 13'30"N, 103 ° 59'26"E GPS, 1350 - 1900 m, 16- 18.05.2010, leg. C. Holzschuh + locals ( OML). GoogleMaps

Etymology.—Name is based on the partly orange abdomen.

Remarks.—The yellow orbits, upper and lower margins of the pronotum, axillae, metanotum, and fifth, sixth, and apical segments of the abdomen will distinguish this species. The diverging eyes below and short sheath are also helpful.
