Type:— JAPAN. C. P. Thunberg s.n. (lectotype UPS Thunberg-11801!, here designated!).
Homotypic synonym:— Cerasus japonica (Thunberg) Loiseleur-Deslongchamps var. glandulosa (Thunberg) Komarov & Klobukova-Alissova (1932: 657) .
Isonym:— Cerasus glandulosa (Thunberg) Sokolov (1954: 751) .
Notes:—When Prunus glandulosa Thunberg (1784: 202) was published, no gatherings or pictures were cited in the protologue and no holotype was designated. Here we choose the specimen Thunberg-11801 ( UPS), which was collected by C. P. Thunberg, as the lectotype.
