T y p e m a t e r i a l: Holotype: ♁. Type locality: Brazil, Minas Gerais, Pedra Azul, 800 m, XI-71, Oliveira ( WOPC) . Paratypes: 9 specimens. BRAZIL: Estado do São Paulo ; Parque Jabaguara ,?- XII-1945 ( WOPC, 1) ; Rio de Janeiro (Guanabara), Corcovado ,?- IX-1961, Seabra y Alvarenga WOPC, 1 ); Estado do Bahia ; San Antonio da Barra , 1890, Ch. Pujol ( WOPC, 1) ; Bahia; Villa Victoria , 1890, Ch. Pujol ( MNHN, 5; WOPC, 1) .

D i a g n o s i s: Mostly black; with yellow elytral fascia, fascia highly setose.

D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 7.0 mm; width 1.0 mm. Form: As in Fig. 47 . Head: Capitulum slightly acuminate; (EW/FW 20/60). Thorax: Pronotal and elytral discs finely punctate; (PL/PW 100/90); (EL/EW 270/70). Abdomen: Aedeagus (Fig. 99).

V a r i a t i o n: Length 6.0-8.0 mm; width 1.0- 1.2 mm.

E t y m o l o g y: The species name, pedraazul, constitutes a noun in apposition and refers to the locality.
