T y p e m a t e r i a l: Holotype: ♁. Type locality: Brazil, Papurucuara am, Rio Negro , Amazonas , 4-II-1963, C. Lindemann ( RGCM) . Paratype: 1 specimen. BRAZIL: Estado do Amazonas ; Papurucuara, Rio Negro ,?-4-1963, C. Lindemann ( WOPC, 1) .
D i a g n o s i s: Antennae and legs testaceous; elytra with three yellow markings. D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 4.0 mm; width 0.8 mm. Form: As in Fig. 51 View Figs 49-52 . Head: (EW/FW 1.8/30). Thorax: Subapical depression well defined; pronotal and elytral discs finely punctate; (PL/PW-70/70); (EL/EW 180/40). Abdomen: Aedeagus ( Fig. 101 View Figs 101-110 ).
E t y m o l o g y: The species name, rio, constitutes a noun in apposition and refers to the type locality.
