T y p e m a t e r i a l: Holotype: ♀. Type locality: Brazil, São Paulo; Cantareira , 26.XII-1943, J. Halik, 6357 ( AMNH).
D i a g n o s i s: Black; elytra with white setose fascia.
D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 7.5 mm; width 1.1 mm. Form: As in Fig. 5 View Figs 5-8 . Head: Capitulum acuminate; (EW/FW 20/60). Thorax: Pronotal and elytral discs finely punctate; (PL/PW 120/120); (EL/EW 365/80). Abdomen: Female pygidium scutiform.
E t y m o l o g y: The species name, capillus, is a Latin name that stems from "hair".
