T y p e m a t e r i a l: Holotype: ♀. Type locality: Panamá, Panamá, Pr, Nat. Metropolitano, 5 August 1995, leg, F. Oedegaad ( WOPC). A second label reads: Phoebe mexicana . Paratypes: 5 specimens. PANAMÁ: Provincia de Panamá ; Parque Nacional Metropolitano , 31-VII-1995, on Phoebe mexicana F. Oedegaard ( WOPC, 1) ; Parque Nacional Metropolitano , 28-XII-1995, on Gouania lupuloides, F. Oedegaard ( WOPC, 1) ; 27 km E Cañita , 9-II-1992, F. Hovore ( WFBM, 1) ; Pacora, 26-XII-1958, W. J. Hanson ( WOPC, 1). COLOMBIA: Departamento de Magdalena, PNN Tayrona, Cerro San Lucas, La Antena, 19-24-VII-2002, Sharkey, Arias, & Torres ( JMLC, 1) .
D i a g n o s i s: Elytra tricolorous, basal 1/2 th castaneous, middle 1/4 th black, posterior
1/4 th vested with yellow decumbent setae, elytra also with yellow lunulate marking.
D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 8.0 mm; width 1.0 mm. Form: As in Fig. 18 View Figs 17-20 . Head: Antenna longer than width across eyes, capitulum slightly compacted; (EW/FW 30/60). Thorax: Subapical depression well defined; base slightly tumescent; (PL/PW 120/120); (EL/EW 300/75). Abdomen: Female pygidium scutiform; aedeagus ( Fig. 75 View Figs 74-82 ).
V a r i a t i o n: Length 7.0-8.0 mm; width 1.0- 1.2 mm. The specimen from Colombia is darker in color.
N a t u r a l h i s t o r y: F. Oedegaard collected three specimens, two on Phoebe mexicana and one on Gouania lupuloides.
E t y m o l o g y: The species name, farragoinis, stems from the Latin word "mixture".
