T y p e m a t e r i a l: Holotype: ♁. Type locality: Brazil. Rio Grande do Sul, K. E. Hüdepohl. A second label reads: San Francisco de Paula , XI-1959 ( MCNZ) . Paratype: 1 specimen BRAZIL: Estado do Rio de Grande Sul ; San Francisco de Paula , Pró Mata, 20-I-1998, Roland Mecke ( WOPC, 1) .
D i a g n o s i s: Integument mostly black; capitulum testaceous; elytron with four maculae; femora testaceous.
D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 5.0 mm; width 1.0 mm. Form: As in Fig. 21 View Figs 21-24 . Head: Antenna slightly shorter than width across eyes, capitulum slightly compacted; (EW/FW 20/55). Thorax: Pronotal and elytral discs finely punctate; (PL/PW 80/80); (EL/EW 230/65). Abdomen: Aedeagus ( Fig. 78 View Figs 74-82 ).
E t y m o l o g y: The species name, fractus, is a Latin name that refers to the fractured portions on the elytral disc.
