Diagnosis. This species is clearly identifiable with antennal flagellum crenulate in profile with angular swelling ventrally ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 15–22 ); LID 0.8× UID; frons without interantennal tubercle ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15–22 ); head and body black with bright yellow markings ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 13–14 ); shallowly punctured sculpturing on head and mesosoma; pronotum short, anterior margin almost straight, lateral corner sub-angulate, angulation variable; mesoscutum with notaular groove shallowly impressed anteriorly; parapsidal sulcus appearing as a fine, raised line; discs of scutellum and metanotum strongly raised; SMC2 almost rectangular, receiving crossvein lm-cu at basal half; SMC3 narrowed on vein Rs ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 15–22 ); propodeum short, barely convex in profile; metasoma much slender than mesosoma; Gt 1 gradually narrowed and petiolate or parallel-sided basally ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 15–22 ).

Distribution. Oriental ( India: Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand. Elsewhere: Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka); Palearctic ( Japan) ( Shimizu & Wahis 2007).

Variation. The additional specimen examined here shows darker body with pale brownish yellow spots on mesosoma compared to the bright yellow spots and patches of the holotype.
