Type material. Holotype, male, by monotypy, SWEDEN: Småland, Gem. Söraby, Vartorp, at river, 28.iv.1945, L. Brundin.
Diagnostic characters. The imago is characterized by a wide anal point with broadly rounded apex, a round inferior volsella and a long megaseta.
Male imago (n =1). Total length 2.95 mm. Wing length 2.18 mm. Total length / wing length 1.35. Wing length / length of profemur 2.04. Coloration black brown.
Head. AR 1.47. Ultimate flagellomere without apical seta. Temporal setae 8, including 2 inner verticals, 3 outer verticals, and 3 postorbitals. Clypeus invisible. Tentorium 180 Μm long. Stipes 140 Μm long. Palpomere lengths (in Μm): -; 41; 80; 165; 135. Third segment without finger-like apical extension.
Thorax. Dorsocentrals 18, antepronotals invisible; acrostichals 9; prealars 4; scutellars 6.
Wing. Anal lobe normal developed. Punctation not visible at 100x magnification. VR 1.20. R2+3 ends at 1/2 distance between R1 and R4+5. Costal extension 65 Μm long. Brachiolum with 1 seta; R with 8 setae; R1 with 2 setae; remaining veins bare. Cu1 slightly curved. Squama with 6 setae.
Legs. Fore legs lost. Spur of middle tibia 50 Μm and 24 Μm long, of hind tibia 65 Μm and 30 Μm long. Hind tibial comb with 8 setae. All tibial spurs with lateral denticles. 4th tarsomere equal to the length of 5th tarsomere in mid leg, and obviously longer than 5th tarsomere in hind leg. Lengths and proportions of legs as in Table 3.

deme 150 Μm long. Spines of virga 63 Μm long. Gonocoxite 315 Μm long. Inferior volsella rounded. Gonostylus 150 Μm long; crista dorsalis reduced, megaseta 20 Μm long. HR 2.10, HV 1.97.
Remarks. Brundin (1947: 28) found an AR of 1.33 while we found an AR of 1.47 on the same specimen. Distribution. The species is known from Britain, Finland, Germany, Italy, Norway, Romania, Russian Far East and Sweden ( Saether & Spies 2004).
