Selaginella flexuosa Spring View in CoL , Flora 21: 197. 1838.

= Selaginella tarapotensis Baker, J. Bot 21(45): 98(–99). 1883.

Range: —Southern Mexico to Panama; Colombia to Bolivia (LP); southeastern Brazil.

Ecology: —Fairly common; terrestrial, rarely epiphytic, in humid montane forests, often on shaded banks; 500– 1750 m.

Notes: —Compared to Selaginella truncata , the lateral leaves are more spaced along the main stems, there is less contrast in color between the adaxial and abaxial sides of the plants, and the leaves are somewhat smaller.
